Strong onshore winds have forced a third consecutive lay day and event organizers will reconvene on Saturday, October 18, 2014 at 7:30 a.m. to make the next call.
“The wind is still blowing pretty strong out of the south and we've got big, stormy and wild conditions here at Supertubos”, said ASP Men's Tour Manager, Renato Hickel. “We're going to call the competition off for the day and meet again tomorrow. The good news is that it looks like the storm is coming to a close and best days look to be Sunday and Monday and possibly Wednesday.”

Very solid, but poor quality, surf will continue on Friday with size easing through and onshore south wind remaining elevated. A new, reinforcing WNW groundswell will build through Saturday afternoon and continue Sunday, before easing Sunday afternoon. Onshore S wind will ease on Saturday with conditions improving further on Sunday as wind backs down. The last 3-4 days of the event waiting period are looking more and more likely to see favorable wind and weather, although the surf will be on the small side; leftovers from the weekend on Monday and into Tuesday, with a small, new WNW groundswell possible for Wed/Thur.
